Medusa


Medusa is a game that seeks to add a sympathetic twist to the classic Greek myth. You start out playing as Perseus, traveling the Medusa's lair to slay her in typical adventure-game fashion. As you are about to slay her, the game shifts, and you now begin anew playing as Medusa before her curse. You go through her day as a priestess, witness her transformation, and are forced to navigate her escape from death.

What I Did on This Project

  • Programmed Perseus's combat system, as well as the enemy AI, which tracked the player's location and moved toward it by the most direct route, attacking when in range
  • Created Medusa's stone vision, which turned enemies within a certain area in front of her into stone, freezing them in place and transforming their sprites
  • Implemented a dialogue system, allowing for the player to interact with their environment and NPCs
  • Took assets from the artists and implemented them as in-game animations
  • Used said assets and Unity's built-in systems to create cutscenes to give the story more depth
